Teaching a topic using audio

You will work in groups of three on this project.

Pick an ITConversations presentation that you consider particularly good. Pick one or more sections of the recording that make particularly interesting points. Extract those parts of the presentation, saving them as separate files. (For an example, see our recording of the discussion of hiring criteria which was part of Jason Fried's presentation on software design and implementation).

Prepare a Web page that explains and teaches the reader about the topic being presented. Your target reader is a student who has finished CIS 275 and is just starting CIS 471. Your page should include:

  1. The name of the presenter
  2. The title of the presentation
  3. The URL of the description of the presentation on the ITConversations web site
  4. The key point or points made by the presenter
  5. The relevance of this presentation to a CIS major
  6. A description of your excerpt(s) with a link to the audio files(s)
  7. Links to and descriptions of related material
Your goal is to explain your topic as clearly as possible -- feel free to be creative and add anything you think will help the student.
