Class email list

The purpose of this assignment is to get you on the class list, and to give you practice with a list server and its commands.

Join the class e-mail list by following the instructions for sending commands to our campus list server.

Our class list is named cisxxxtyyyy where:

xxx is the course number, for example: 275 or 471
t is the term: f or s for spring or fall
yyyy is the year

So, for example, if you are taking CIS 275 in the fall of 2010, you would subscribe to the list by sending a blank e-mail message (neither a subject nor a message) to:

   join-cis275f2010@lists.csudh.edu

Note that there are no spaces in the address.

After subscribing, you will receive a confirmation email. You must reply to that to confirm that you really do want to join the list.

After that you will receive an e-mail saying your have subscribed. Print that out and turn it in. (Be sure your name and the assignment number is on it).

The reply to your subscription request should arrive in a few seconds. If it does not, check to be sure it was not moved into a spam folder.

Once you have subscribed and confirmed your subscription, you can post messages to the list by sending email to:

   <list name>@lists.csudh.edu.

Everyone on the list will get a copy.
