Early 3G experience

This assignment highlights the characteristics of early 3G cellular connectivity and allows you to compare it to alternatives. I advise you to do it in teams.

Read our article reviewing Verizon's EVDO service, and answer the following questions:

What would you need in order to access the Internet with a laptop computer using this service?
If you had this service, would you drop your current home ISP service? What would be the pros and cons?
If you had this service, would you drop your current home telephone line? What would be the pros and cons?
If you had this service, would you give up your current cell phone account? What would be the pros and cons?
How much would you be willing to pay for this service per month?
Give quantitative answers to the following questions:
How does the speed of this 3G connectivity compare to DSL in the United States?
How does it compare to DSL in France or Japan?
How does it compare to analog dial-up modem connectivity?
