CIS 275-471
CIS 275 and 471 form a two-course sequence. If you have not taken CIS 275, you should drop CIS 475 and take CIS 275 first.
What did we cover in CIS 275?
- Networking technology
- Network applications
- Network implications
- Web development skills
We will continue each of these topics in CIS 471.
Some of the differences between the two courses are as follows:
Different data types. In CIS 275, we worked with text, numbers and still images. In 471 we will add audio and video, for example: video1, video2, and video3.
Our Web sites were static in CIS 275, but we will look at ways to make them more dynamic in 471 -- both on the client and the server.
We will add an emphasis on applications that promote collaboration and cooperation in CIS 471.
We will consider development tools with higher levels of abstraction than in CIS 275.
