VoIP in the LAN

Voice over IP (VoIP) on corporate LANs is growing rapidly. In 2003 IP telephone station shipments exceeded traditional PBX stations.

VoIP works relatively well on a LAN because bandwidth is relatively high and it can be increased and managed.

The following figures were taken from 2004 VoIP State of the Market Report by Steven Taylor. They are based on a survey of over 500 IT managers.
