About these modules

I use these modules in a course on network-based applications. The students are undergraduate business IS majors.

Before covering the material, we have an informal WiFi demonstration, using a portable computer to connect to a base station in the classroom. We also walk out of and away from the classroom, noting the effect on transmission speed (modulation) and signal strength.

We jump back and forth between the theory and application, and read articles in the current trade and general press while covering the material.

The user interface is simple. Every item in the table below is a hot link to a teaching note or assignment. Key terms are bold face within the notes. The Index is an alphabetical list of all key terms.
