First image

This assignment will familiarize you with some image processing operations.

You are to make a 200 by 200 pixel picture of your face. Do as much as you can to adjust and enhance it. When it looks good, crop and resize it to 200 by 200 pixels. The picture should not be distorted -- making you look long and skinny or short and fat.

Be sure you resize the picture using your image processing program. Do not resize it using the height and width attributes of the <img> tag.

You can start with an image from a digital camera or scan an image in the open lab in Welch Hall. You could do this with any image processing program, but I would recommend using Paint.net.

Include your picture in a page that says "here I am" followed by your picture with a 2 pixel border around it and your name. It should look like this:

Here I am

<your name goes here>

When it is correct, turn in a printout of your page in a browser and a listing of the source code.

Hint: you can see how I made the heading "Here I am" large by viewing the source code for this page. While you are at it, it might be a good review to study all of the HTML on this page.
