Attributes of the Body tag
The Body tag can have several attributes. Three of these are listed below, with links to examples of their use.
- Bgcolor, which specifies a solid color for the page background
- Text, which specifies a color for the text on a page
- Background, which specifies a background image
Note that common colors are given names like "red" or "aqua." Using the RGB color model, one can specify any of roughly 16 million colors by giving the intensities of their red, green and blue components.
The image file in the Background tag illustration is called "lucasbackground.jpg," and it is in the same directory as the page using it as a background. (Later we will see how to use files that are in different directories).
If you see an image you like on the Web, you can copy it to your computer. Just place the cursor over the image, right click on it, and use the save as ... command.
Since the image is smaller than the screen, it is repeated.
