GetEducated.com ranks CSUDH number nine among 120 accredited universities
CARSON, Calif. – The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Distance Learning program at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), has been rated among the top 10 least expensive among major universities in America according to a national survey. GetEducated.com, LLC has released its biannual survey of tuition costs at 120 accredited distance learning MBA programs, and has determined CSUDH ranks number nine in regionally accredited MBA programs.
After surveying a cross section of respected universities from throughout America, including Duke, Howard, Purdue and Carnegie Mellon universities, officials at GedEducated.com selected the online MBA program at Cal State Dominguez Hills in the top 10, the only California university so listed.
“To be ranked a GetEducated.com ‘Best Buy Distance MBA,’ a program must cost considerably less than the national average for an online MBA in its class,” said Vicky Phillips, CEO for GetEducated.com.
“Costing close to half of the national average [$16,400 is the national average for a regionally accredited online MBA], CSUDH is an amazing bargain for prospective students nationwide,” said Phillips. “It is in fact one of the Top 10 Least Expensive options for students to consider when they are trying to decide among the more than 100 accredited options currently available in the marketplace.” The Distance Learning program costs about $9,000 at CSUDH. Phillips said only programs accredited by agencies recognized by the Council on Higher Education (CHEA) are permitted to list in GetEducated.com’s “Best Distance Learning Graduate Schools”.
The online MBA courses are interactive between faculty and students and include lecture videos, e-mail communication, group involvement among students and video conferencing.
The CSUDH Distance Learning program, the largest in the 23 campus CSU system, attracts students from across America and throughout the world. In 2002-03, more than 4,000 students representing 60 countries were enrolled in online courses.
In addition to the online MBA, other distance learning programs are offered at CSUDH and others are under consideration. In January, CSUDH President James E. Lyons, Sr. joined Boris Mikhailov, Rector of Moscow State Academy of Instrumental Engineering and Computer Science, as they signed a landmark agreement to provide accredited distance learning degree programs to students in Russia. This marked the first time an American and Russian university partnered to deliver an online academic program.
Last October, the Pannasastra University of Cambodia also signed a historic memorandum of understanding with CSUDH that opened the doors of distance learning instruction between the two universities. The agreement will facilitate the prospect of joint research activities for research funding, publications, student exchanges and joint seminars.
